Entry and Travel Requirements

Entry Requirements

The entry requirements for a selected foreign destination are the currently applicable rules that determine which documents do travelers need to enter the country they want to visit.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the entry requirements have become rather complicated and may rapidly change, making traveling more difficult.

Travelers should always check the applicable entry requirements when planning a trip abroad and adhere to the set-out rules and regulations to ensure crossing the border without any issues upon arrival.

The latest entry requirements implemented by governments of foreign countries include:
  • Visas
  • Passports
  • Passenger Locator Forms or other health declarations
  • Travel insurance (often with Covid coverage)
  • Covid-19 test results
  • Proof of being fully vaccinated (vaccination certificates)
  • And more

Each country establishes its own travel requirements, listing the required documents that are later on checked upon arrival.

The applicable rules are adapted to the current Covid-19 risks of each country and now usually serve as an additional safety measure during the ongoing pandemic to protect the general public.

Travelers who do not adhere to the applicable entry rules and restrictions may be refused entry to the selected country.

There are four main categories of visas/entry offered by most countries, and these are:
  • Visas
  • Electronic Visas: eVisa, ETA, ESTA, NzETA, K-ETA, etc.
  • Visas on Arrival

Visa-Free Countries: Most Powerful Passports

A passport is a paper that proves the tourist’s identity and citizenship. It is one of the necessary documents for international travel. Your passport can decide how many countries you can visit visa-free, with an electronic visa, standard visa, or visa on arrival.

According to the latest rankings, the Japanese passport is the most powerful passport in the world, which authorizes visa-free travel to over 150 different countries! That’s nearly two-thirds of all the countries in the world.

Not everyone can visit the embassy and obtain a passport from one of the top-ranked nations. First and foremost, one must be a country citizen and meet other application needs.
