Russian e-Visa: Basic information

A Russian e-visa is an electronic visa, a travel document required by all travelers who want to visit Russia.

Launched in Russia in January 2021, e-Visa improves visa processing by moving to a faster and easier online process.

Russia offers one type of e-visa. This is an online single entry visa that allows the owner to visit Russia for up to 8 days and is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Approved Russian e-visas can be used for tourism and business purposes.

Travelers who want to visit Russia should check eligible country list before applying and apply online from home with in minutes.

Processing time is up to 96 hours (4 working days). However, most applications will be approved by the Russian authorities within 72 hours (3 business days).

Online visas to Russia can only be distinguished by one type: single entry e-visas. You can stay in Russia for a little over 8 days and it is valid for 1 month (30 days) from the date of issue.

Online guide for applying for a Russian e-visa:

  • Please fill out the Russian electronic visa application form. Please fill in your details, passport details, destination, email address and other important information. Make sure that all information on the form, including supplementary documents, is correct.
  • Choose one of several online payment methods to pay your fees.
  • Check your email, just after paying the fee, you will receive a confirmation number on your email provided. Processing time can be 96 hours and you will recveive evisa in your mail b0x.

Russian e-visas are valid for 30 days (1 month) from issue date. All foreigners traveling to Russia must do travel during the validity period.

e-Visa holders can enter the Russian Federation for up to 8 days from the selected entry gate. Please note that an online visa acts as a single admission.

You do not need a transit visa to travel to other countries via Russia. All you need is a valid passport to wait for a connecting flight.

Note! If you plan to stay in Russia without a visa during transit, you will not be able to leave the transit area of ​​the airport.

Required documents for e-Visa to Russia

All applicants are required to prepare these documents as attachments to the application form.
