Visa requirements for Greek citizens are some rules and conditions pre-established by the authorities of other countries for all Greek passport holders upon entry. Requirements vary depending on the country where you apply for a visa. Travel liberty with a Greek passport ranks 8th in the overall freedom of  travel ranking, as there are approximately 140 countries where Greek citizens do not require a short-term stay visa.

However, Greeks in more than 100 countries need a visa to visit. It can be an embassy visa, an electronic visa, or an arrival visa.

The majority of countries without visas other than the EU allow Greek passport holders to visit them for 90 days / 3 months without the need for an e-visa or visa at the embassy.

However, in some countries Greeks can stay longer. For example, in Canada, travelers from Greece can stay up to 6 months at a time.

Many countries offer electronic visas (eVisas) or Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to Greek citizens. These are usually needed for short vacation visits, but in some cases can also be used for work or transit purposes.

Greek passport owners are entitled for a Visa on arrival (VoA) in some countries. However, if you apply for a visa until your arrival date, you may have to wait in line at the border, which can be a waste of time.

Greeks are required to apply for these visas directly with the official diplomatic mission.
