Korean ETA is an electronic visa introduced in Korea in 2021 and is currently available online in 49 visa-exempt countries.

K-ETA is a multi-entry online visa valid for 2 years from the date of issue, allowing you to visit South Korea for short stays related to leisure and trade. The maximum length of stay varies from 30 to 90 days, depending on the nationality of the applicant.

The South Korean ETA first introduced a trial period in May 2021 and is now a mandatory document from September 2021.

South Korea has introduced a new system to speed up the entire application process by pre-selecting incoming tourists and facilitating visits to South Korea. It’s a very easy 3 step process to get visa online.

Only one type of K-ETA can be used for recreational and commercial purposes e.g. Vacations, visits to friends and family, attendance at business meetings, conferences, seminars and trade fairs.

Eligible travelers must apply for K-ETA at least 72 hours before their scheduled departure time to South Korea in order to receive approved travel approval emails in a timely manner.

To apply for ETA online in South Korea, qualified travelers should follow some easy steps and complete the online application process in just a few minutes. This process consists of filling out the application with the correct information, paying the issuance fee, and waiting for the processed documents to be emailed.

ETA Korea is valid for 2 years from the date of issue and is a multiple entry online visa for the owner. Applicants should note that the ETA does not have to expire in order to remain valid. The same thing happens with Korean ETAs when your passport expires.

Citizens of 49 countries without visas must apply for an electronic permit to enter South Korea online before visiting South Korea. An approved ETA is similar to a tourist visa and allows the owner to stay in the country for 30, 60, or 90 days (depending on the nationality of the traveler).

In order for parents or guardians to submit a K-ETA application on behalf of their child, the child must be registered on the online form. In this case, the responsibility for the correct data when submitting the request lies with the sender of the form.

The application process itself takes only a few minutes and can be done entirely at home. The approved documents will be emailed to each applicant in PDF format, printed later and submitted upon arrival in South Korea.

Korean ETA will not extend. Eligible travelers who wish to visit South Korea again will need to apply for a new ETA online after the two-year validity period has expired.

With the approved K-ETA, owners can stay in South Korea for 30, 60, or 90 days per visit. Moreover the accurate duration of stay depends on the nationality of the applicant. The maximum length of stay may vary, but regardless of the nationality of the owner, K-ETA may visit South Korea multiple times in two years.
